Behind my new logo

Updated: Sep 14, 2024

Some of you may have seen my beautiful new painting on the wall of my studio & thanks to Caffeine Creative UK I'm now the proud owner of a new logo for Vale Yoga.

I found the painting whilst on holidays in the Pyrenees earlier this summer & was immediately struck by the energy and colours that matched my studio theme.

The artist told me it was called "Uranus" & whilst not a traditional aspect of yoga, its astrological significance aligns with the transformative potential of the practice, encouraging yogis to embrace change, seek higher knowledge and explore new spiritual horizons.

Uranus is known as the planet of transformation, revolution and higher consciousness. It represents the breaking of old patterns, the pursuit of freedom & the awakening of the soul to new possibilities. Yoga inspires us to explore new dimensions in our physical practice which can then lead to spiritual breakthroughs, deeper self-awareness and the courage to live authentically.

I'd like to think that this is what yoga does for me and what I hope my students feel. Finding confidence as well as peace on the mat which we can then carry into our daily lives.

I love the clean lines which for me represent the alignment of Ashtanga. I love the shapes: the diamonds suggesting precision and radiant energy allowing balance in everyday life and the triangles reminding me of the balancing of the energetic forces Prana and Apana. Prana is the energy that moves up and inward, the energy that leads to our source. Apana is the outward moving energy, the energy that brings us into the world, the fuel that drives us as we go about our lives.

And lastly, the kaleidoscope effect of my favourite colour purple: a colour that resonates with people on so many levels. For me, I love its quality of richness, its exclusivity and sophistication. I love its ambiguity: a mix of two colours, a blending of opposites offering balance but also mystery. It's also the colour of the seventh and final chakra - Sahasara or crown chakra, said to be the most spiritual chakra and responsible for a vital role in spiritual growth and development.

I have noticed students are attracted to my painting, I see their focus move & wonder if they are also intrigued and inspired by it for the same reasons or whether it speaks to them in a different way. I hope you like it and how I have adapted it to be my logo - come and see the original some time!
